Graduate Technical Analyst - Equities Development

Development and release testing within Equities Technology for a FIX trading application, involving development of in-house software using Perl and Transact-SQL to comply with FIX messaging standards.

Specific responsibilities included performing functional testing of business test cases with the exchange.

Graduate Technical Analyst - Global Treasury Systems Support

First line support for users of Treasury Settlement Systems (FX, Loans and Deposits), involving call-out, problem identification and management, bug fixing, and supporting development releases on Unix, Windows and Tandem systems.

Specific responsibilities included supporting treasury reconciliation tools, including front-office to back-office, counterparty SWIFT matching and nostro/vostro accounts.



Matt Raines


I'm an experienced web application developer and technical manager with a particular interest in online campaign sites. I run my own successful business providing web design, software development, and consultancy to politicians, small businesses, and voluntary groups.

My previous jobs have included leading development teams producing enterprise web sites for clients including Sainsbury's, Dolland and Aitchison, and Abbey National.

I've worked in the web development industry since graduating from Warwick University in 2000. I'm a Zend Certified PHP Engineer and a Member of the British Computing Society.

I am available for part-time contract PHP development and consultancy.

I run this web development company with my colleague Tim Prater, providing web application design and development to small businesses, voluntary organisations, and political groups.

Our main products include a widely used CMS for Liberal Democrats and bespoke website development. We support the CIPR's web portfolio including their website, CPD application, and blog aggregator and have developed online applications for hauliers, fund managers, and e-commerce shops, as well as a number of content managed websites.

In addition to our core services we can provide hosting on our own servers in a UK data centre and email redirection or hosting including spam filtering and push email. We are a member and accredited registrar at Nominet and provide low cost domain name registration for our customers.

PHP London


As a volunteer on the PHP London committee, I organised rooms, activities, and speakers for the user group's monthly pub meetings and one-off events, during which time the group's active membership increased four-fold.

I helped organise the UK's largest PHP conference at Kensington Olympia in 2009 and at the Business Design Centre, Islington in 2010, raising over £40,000 from sponsors including Microsoft, Facebook, PayPal, Sun Microsystems, and Adobe.
